Happy National Read A Book Day!

If you’re an avid book lover, like myself, you’ll understand how important a day like this is. Growing up, I highly depended on books. You could find me sitting in the same spot 3 hours later and probably be finishing up a book I had just started that exact same day (sound familiar?)

Finding a good book is like discovering a hidden treasure. Sometimes, we have to teach high and low and far away places but when we do, it’s totally worth it.

We’ve all grown up hearing the words “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover”, right? But seriously, it’s hard not to.

The cover of a book is what catches your eye. It’s what draws you in and makes you want to dive deeper and deeper into the pages of the book…It’s a safe bet to say that if books didn’t have covers, we’d all be reading more books on a whim but where’s the fun in that?!?

Can you imagine heading to the bookstore where every single book looked the same? No covers, nothing but a title…How different would your reading choices be, just by choosing randomly! With today being National Read A Book Day, why not branch out of what you normally read and try something new? Or better yet, discover the exact book you’ve been looking for?

These best-selling books below are some great suggestions that should make their way on your Goodreads Wishlist or better yet, your Amazon order of the week!

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before

If you haven’t seen the movie on Netflix, you’re seriously missing out. If you haven’t read the book yet, you haven’t loved! Can you imagine your love life going from nonexistent to completely realistic and chaotic? Not only will you learn that past and future loves can change your life but the love for a sister sometimes makes us do crazy things!

While this may not be a new book by any means, it’s still a classic that everyone should read. If you’re a sucker for a forbidden love affair and top secret organizations, now is a good time as any to read this book! Once you start reading the pages, you won’t be able to put it down.

Catch Me If You Can: The True Story of a Real Fake

Maybe you’ve seen the movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio, and if you have, it’s not that far off from the book! However, in my opinion, the book always tends to be just a little better because of all the details that the writer can describe. The plot line is so amazing, that you’ll be shocked that you finish the book as quickly as you do!

There’s never been a better time to get up and get this book. From start to finish, you’ll feel so in tune with this book that you’ll swear it was written about you.

Crazy Rich Asians

Read it before heading to the big screen! The wildly popular movie is out, but this book needs to be read first! Hilarious, heart warming and completely relatable (Meet the family yet?)

It’s not too often that a past President (Bill Clinton) and famous author (James Patterson) team up together to write a stellar mystery that’s taking the book world by storm. Give this political mystery a go…you may find that you love this genre!

If you really can’t get enough of World War II, you can this book to your list. 2 human from 2 different countries trying to live during a time full of devastation and a fulfilling story full of beautifully written words.
